Solids have a definite volume AND a definite shape, unlike liquids. Also unlike liquids, solids particles are packed together and can't shift around. One example of a solid is an apple.

These represent solid molecules. They are closer together than gas and liquid molecules. They vibrate in place, but never really move their position.

This is an apple, the most delicious of all solids.

Most common objects, like this picture frame, are solids.
